Discount Books: Textbook Shipping

June 21, 2008 – 11:59 am

If you are a textbook sales affiliate, you need to set up a good shipping routine. Books need to end up in the same condition in which they were sent. This way you will be guaranteed to get a good seller rating, which will lead to more sales. If you work in a business inside your home, it is tempting to not be as professional as if you were in an office–try to think of the job as if you were working in an actual bookstore.

What this means is that you should have a routine for when you get a book sale. You should set aside postage materials, such as bubble wrap, padded envelopes, a printed label, and perhaps a printed receipt as well. The more professional the package, the better seller rating you will get.

Obviously, this does not matter as much if you are only selling one book. However, in a four year undergraduate program you are going to have dozens of books to sell. Instead of putting them into a box and forgetting about them, it makes more sense to try to sell them. In an affiliate program, you are not penalized for not making a sale, so you have nothing to lose.

Buying Textbooks
On the other side of the issue, if you are buying books via an affiliate program, it is a good idea to go with a bookseller who has a good rating. You dont want to find that the book has been damaged during shipping or the book has writing throughout the pages. Of major concern is that the book doesnt arrive on time. A semester is only four months long, so you only have so much time to wait.
